The goal of this bibliography is to provide a comprehensive listing of the current literature in this area, for use by researchers, faculty, and practitioners who wish to address the challenges and issues surrounding provider misunderstanding and attitudes towards substance abuse.

Substance Abuse and Social Work Bibliography (1990-1999)
This bibliography has been designed to help meet the need for social worker education regarding substance abuse and addiction. It is designed for social work educators, with the purpose of infusing social work education with substance abuse content.

The Development of an Undergraduate Course: Theories of Counseling in Substance Abuse (1999)
The goal of this project was to develop a new undergraduate course within the Psychology Department of the University of North Carolina in Wilmington. The proposal can be used by other faculty as a template for creating a new course.

This collection of North Carolina graduate and associate degree substance abuse course descriptions and syllabi is intended to aid in the collaboration among faculty members so as to enhance the quality of substance abuse instruction.
